GLUBRAN 2 is a synthetic surgical glue that is ready for use.

GLUBRAN 2 is a tissue adhesive with high adhesive and haemostatic properties which, in certain situations, allow to reduce the use of surgical sutures.

In a wet environment, GLUBRAN 2 polymerises rapidly, creating a thin elastic film with high stretch resistance, which guarantees solid adhesion of the tissues and an effective antiseptic barrier.

The spray device

The system permits application of Glubran 2 Surgical Glue as a spray in surgical laparotomy and thoracoscopy procedures.

The System consist of:

• a steel canister (illustration/point 1) housed in two ABS half-shells (illustration/point 2). The canister is filled with non-toxic, non-flammable HFC134/a (1,1,1,2 tetrafluoroethane) gas, used as the glue propellant. A small tube with a stopcock for passage of the gas connects to the canister valve through the upper half-shell (illustration/point 3). The holder for the glue-containing syringe is joined to the top of the upper half-shell (illustration /point 4 detail).
• a flexible catheter, 33cm long, external diameter Ø 5mm (illustration/point 5). There are two small tubes inside the catheter, one for the passage of the gas and one for the passage of the glue. Gas and glue flow together in a spray tip which is inserted into the catheter (illustration/point 6) at the distal extremity to atomise the glue. The two small tubes extend from the proximal extremity of the catheter: the free tube with a female luer adapter and nonreturn valve (illustration/point 7 detail), will be connected to the luer adapter of the glue-containing syringe while the other is connected by means of a stopcock to the valve on the gas canister (illustration/point 3).
